GIR GYPSY JUNGLE SAFARI IS OPEN FROM 15th October To 15th June Every Year.

Diu, 110 KM, with its pleasant beaches and generally few tourist crowds, offers a great change of pace from Gujarat and Goa. Made up of five villages and a town, the territory is dominantly occupied by fishing communities. The creek on the north side of the island has salt pans and marshes that attract large flocks of birds, while the south coast, facing the open sea, has limestone cliffs and palm fringed sandy and rocky beaches.

The most important attraction here is the temple of Dwarkadheesh (250 KM), also known as Jagat temple. This five-storied temple, built more than 2000 years ago, rests on 60 pillars and many intricate carvings. Thousands of devotees come here every day to pay their respects.

Steeped in history, culture, spirituality and the religion, Junagadh is the soul of the Saurashtra .In just 55 km the terrain descend from Mt. Girnar, Gujarat highest point at the 1000m to the Veeraval coast .In the Mid -18th c. when Mughal power weakened, an Afghan Soldier of fortune named Sher Khan Babi established Junagadh state, which his successors ruled until India’s independence.

This famous temple by the sea is another major centre for tourists and pilgrims. It is one of the India’s twelve jyotirlingas(spontaneously formed Shivalingas). In 1026 Somnath‘s prosperity drew Mahmud of Ghazni on the last of his 17th expeditions to India. He ransacked the town, plundered and destroyed the temple and carried away camel loads of gold and precious stones. However, this was just one of the half a dozen times that the temple was destroyed through its history, dating from the pre-Christian era.

Tulsishyam Mandir is dedicated to Lord Krishna and is several hundred years old. It is a major tourist destination and pilgrim center. It is located in the heart of GIRNational Park, in Junagadh District of Gujarat. There are medicinal hot water springs and are a major attraction as it can get rid of skin diseases. The temple has more than 200 cows in the Gaushala.
