Hornbill Festival of Nagaland

Hornbill Festival, which is one of the most attractive northeast festivals could make a comeback this year if the COVID situation remains to be under control by the time the festival is organized.

Now, the Nagaland Tourism Department has reached out to all Tribal organizations in the state and has invited them to a meeting on October 1 at the Directorate of Tourism Kohima. The meeting will focus on the Hornbill Festival 2024, which is the 25th edition of the festival.

The Hornbill Festival is a festival that celebrates the culture of the state. Held during the winter season in the month of December, it sees a footfall of many visitors. The festival sees singing, dancing, and exploring the culture and cuisine of the state.

As of now, it has been decided that all activities at the festival (should it be organized this year) will be held . As of now, fully vaccinated travelers can enter Nagaland, and this might be the case if the festival is held. That is yet to be determined.

The festival that promotes the cultural heritage of the state and its various tribes is held at the Naga Heritage Village in Kisama, in the city of Kohima, the capital of Nagaland.
