Tigra Dam, Gwalior
Tigra Dam (Tighara Dam) is a freshwater reservoir constructed on the Sank River, some 23 km from Gwalior and is a major source of water for the city dwellers.
This dam had a dubious history of having failed twice. However, today it has emerged as a favourite destination for families to spend some good time together. Children also enjoy and learn about dams on a visit to this site.
Tourists can enjoy great views of the dam and the serene waters here. Children will love to go on boating and at the end of the day, you can enjoy some delicious snacks available at the restaurant at the site.

Since summers can be quite hot and dry, it is better to visit the place during winters. However, the site would be crowded on Sundays and public holidays. Tigra Dam is easily accessible from Gwalior.

One can enjoy speed boating, jalpari boat, paddle boating and water scooter ride at Tighra dam. Apart from adventure, it also offers serenity with the picturesque view that surrounds the dam.
