Darjeeling Tour Package
Darjeeling is a town in India's West Bengal state, in the Himalayan foothills. Once a summer resort for the British Raj elite, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, or “Toy Train,” completed in 1881. It's famed for the distinctive black tea grown on plantations that dot its surrounding slopes. Its backdrop is Mt. Kanchenjunga, among the world’s highest peaks.
Kangchenjunga Tour Package
Kangchenjunga, also spelled Kanchenjunga, is the third highest mountain in the world. It rises with an elevation of 8,586 m in a section of the Himalayas called Kangchenjunga Himal delimited in the west by the Tamur River, in the north by the Lhonak the Chu and Jongsang La, and in the east by the Teesta River.
Itinerary :
DAY 1 :
Upon arrival transfer to hotel and overnight stay.
DAY 2 - Delhi - Bagdogra (by plane) - Darjeeling (by car) :
Arrive at the airport and drive to Darjeeling through Assam tea plantations and tiny villages. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 3 - Darjeeling visit :
An early trip to Tiger Hill to see the sunrise. Afterward, visit Ghoom Monastery. Later on, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and the plantations. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 4 - Darjeeling - Manay Bhanjang (by car) - Tonglu :
Early morning drive to Manay Bhanjong; we have a tantalizing glimpse of Kangchenjunga ahead through rhododendrons.
DAY 5 :
Tonglu - Garibas.
DAY 6 - Garibas - Sandakphu :
Climb to join the ridge trail towards Kalpokhari. Afterward, start a long and steep climb onto the Singalila ridge - leads to Sandakphu.
DAY 7 - Sandakphu - Phalut :
Watch sunrise over Kangchenjunga, Jannu Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyo. Get a view of yak herds, silvery pine forests, tiny lakes ringed with grass, and the snow-capped Himalayan range in the background.
DAY 8 - Phalut - Raman :
A pleasant descent through the woods takes to Gorkhey and then climbs up towards Raman.
DAY 9 :
Raman - Rimbik.
DAY 10 - Rimbik - Pelling (by car) :
After breakfast, take a drive to Pelling. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 11 - Pelling - Pemayangtse - Yuksam (by car) :
Visit the Pemayangtse Monastery.
DAY 12 - Yuksam - Tshoka :
The trail leads to Rahthong valley and a steep climb towards the Tibetan village of Tshoka. You get an excellent view of the entire Himalayan range and Kangchenjunga.
DAY 13 :
Tshoka - Dzongri.
DAY 14 - Dzongri - Thangsing :
Establish your campsite on the grassy pasture of Thangsing. The southern ridge of Kangchenjunga and the Onglakhing glacier are visible directly ahead.
DAY 15 - Thangsing - Samiti Lake :
Take your first footsteps on the Onglakhing glacier climb up to the shores of the Samiti Lake - ringed by prayer flags, the Lake reflects Forked Peak, Kabru North Goecha Peak, and other snow-capped peaks.
DAY 16 - Samiti Lake - Goecha La - Thangsing :
Leave early as fog and clouds descend on the pass shortly after sunrise. The track to Goecha La climbs steeply through moraines. You can see Kanchanjunga and the Talung glacier.
DAY 17 :
Thangsing - Lam Pokhari.
DAY 18 :
Labdang - Tashiding.
DAY 19 - Tashiding - Martam (by car) :
Visit the Tashiding monastery perched on the top of the hill set between two rivers.
DAY 20 - Martam - Gangtok (by car):
En route visit Rumtek monastery. Afternoon at leisure in Gangtok.
DAY 21 - Gangtok - Bagdogra (by car) - Delhi :
After breakfast, drive to Bagdogra and flight for Delhi. On arrival at Delhi Transfer for onward journey.
