Sundarbans is a mangrove area in the delta formed by the confluence of the Ganges, Brahmaputra, and Meghna Rivers in the Bay of Bengal. It spans from the Hooghly River in India's state of West Bengal to the Baleswar River in Bangladesh's division of Khulna.
Sundarban Itinerary :
DAY 1:
Arrive at Kolkata and drive to Godhkhali. Transfer to Sunderban Island by a jetty down the rivers Hooghly, Gumar, Durgaduni, and Gumdi. After lunch, set off on motor launch and view wildlife from the Sajnekhali Watchtower and visit the Sajnekhali Museum and Mangrove interpretation center. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 2 - Sunderban :
Sightseeing. Take a cruise through the deep creeks and covering the watchtowers of Burir Dabri.Kumirmari as well as Marich Jhapi. Enjoy an absorbing evening bird-watching, Bono Bibir Pala - folklore of Sunderbans. Overnight stay.
DAY 3 - Sunderban :
Sightseeing. Cruise down through the rivers and narrow creeks of the Sunderban National Park and a lovely birding experience. Visit various towers of Neti Dhopani as well as Do Banki. Visit Spotted Dear Rehabilitation center and the islands of the Sunderban Tiger Project area. The Netidhopani Watchtower offers a view of Old Lord Shiva temple. Overnight stay.
DAY 4 :
Move towards Kolkata. Enjoy a boat ride along with the jungles. Next, visit Sudhanyakhali watchtower at Sunderban National Park. Most of the Royal Bengal Tigers are sighted from this tower. After lunch, depart for Godhkhali to be transferred to Kolkata and onward journey. Tour ends.
